Political Poem Resisting Silence In America

I wrote this poem in response to the horrific actions of the US government in 2026. May all those who have lost their lives be guided by Hermes and received well by Hades.
Against Compliance
You tell us to be silent,
Not one flicker brilliant.
You demand our compliance,
Call self-expression defiance.
You grind love under your boot,
But even in dirt, it takes root.
I am the monster,
The dreamer, the dancer.
I am the master,
The disaster, the cancer.
I am the fighter,
The biter, the igniter.
Tremble, I am the dragon.
I will not be quiet.
I do not have to be blind.
I will join the riot.
I do not have to be kind.
My fire will break you.
I return, remade, anew.
When you stop me breathing
I am reborn and never leaving
I am Dionysos twice-born.
I am by your side
Raging bull that you ride,
I am hysteria, mania and frenzy
I am speaker for the many
I am the breaker
